We paint for fun, stress relief, me time, self care, make a gift for someone or ourselves or for profit.
I have 2 suggestions for how you might make painting a little easier on yourself.
Pick a Forgiving Approach and a Forgiving Subject
For a Forgiving Approach:
Are you already very skilled at drawing?
Drawing and Painting are two very different skills. Opt to paint something very abstract. A loose and absract style focuses more on capturing the energy, feeling, mood and emotion of our subject.
OR I suggest starting with a stencil or a tracer.

4 Ways to make Painting more Fun
For a Forgiving Subject:
Ideas from nature are often the way to start because their forms are organic and less symetrical. Flowers, leaves, trees, are all uniform but when painting them, the shapes and sizes are varied and very forgiving.
Flowers and leaves are way easier to paint than people or cars!!!!
A flower with an uneven petal or two will probably still look quite natural. Tall skinny trees next to shorter, thicker trees will also look more natural and quite "normal".
Check out these 3 flowers I painted in acrylics.

Be forgiving to yourself and with your art.
Embrace imperfections.
Art cannot be wrong and can only be a step in creating stress relief, self care and having fun for yourself.
Have fun
